Obituary of Germaine "Gerry" V. Figura

Germaine "Gerry" V. Figura, age 78, formerly New Rd. Ransomville died Thursday April 30, 2015 in the Elderwood at Williamsville, NY. Gerry was born April 27, 1937 in Welland, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of the late Claude and Gladys (Parfitt) Farr. On May 4, 1957 she married John Figura and she moved to Ransomville. She was employed by Stella Niagara as a Switchboard Operator, Dietary and Housekeeping Departments for 7 years, retiring in 1984. Gerry was an excellent cook, she loved cross stitching, playing golf, and her pet Yorkie "Winston". Her husband, John predeceased her on November 25, 2003. She is survived by her children, Terry (Michael) Zastrow of Lockport, Wanda (Daniel) Figura-Hermer of Clarkston, MI, and Theodore "Ted" (Carol) Figura of Madison, OH; her grandchildren, Erica (Jeremy) Clement, T.J. Zastrow, Ethan, John, and Michaela Hermer; her brothers, Wayne (Jeanne) Farr of Oshawa, Ontario and Lanny (Beth) Farr of St. Catharine's, Ontario; and a brother in law, Guy Coutu of Oshawa, Ontario. She was predeceased by her sister, Leota Coutu. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Saturday, May 2, from 4 - 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, May 3, at 1:00 PM in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in the North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria.
