Edith D.H “Edie” Goodnight, age 78, of Wilson, wife of Edward R. Goodnight entered into rest peacefully on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Edie was born on April 26th, 1945, in Greenwich, CT. She is the daughter of the late James A. and the late Henrietta (Wood) Howe. Edie attended local school in CT going on to college and obtaining her master’s degree from University of Buffalo (UB). She married Edward R. Goodnight on July 18th ,1987.
Edie was an earth science teacher for WCSD from 1970 until retiring in 1999. She was a past member of the North Ridge UMC where she was a member of the knitting club and more recently attended Exley UMC where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed doing watercolors, gardening, making, and selling specialty candles and bookmarks, animals, nature, her cats, their pet dog Wilson and generally staying busy.
She is survived by her husband: Edward R. Goodnight; children, Hannah (Todd) Moltrop, Tom (Julie) Goodnight, Sarah Goodnight, Laura Goodnight, Adam (Elizabeth) Goodnight and Maureen (Ray) Young; her sister, Rieta Trepiccione; granddaughter, Amelia and 7 other grandchildren, also 6 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her siblings Emily Buttaro and James Howe.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 5th from 4-7 PM. at Hardison Funeral Homes Inc., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, NY.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 6th at Exley UMC 338 Lake St. Wilson, NY with Pastor. Shelley Andrews officiating. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery.
