Eleanor Jane Larson, (93), of Lewiston, NY, passed from this life on earth into the presence of her God and Savior the Lord Jesus Christ on August 27, 2022. She was born on July 17, 1929, the first of five daughters born to James and Elizabeth Walz.
Eleanor graduated from Wilson Central School and attended Houghton College. She married her husband Irving Larson on May 14, 1949, and they were blessed to be wed for 63 years at the time of his passing in 2013. Eleanor appreciated being a stay-at-home mom but did work several years as a teachers' aide at Lewiston Porter Elementary School. She was a charter member of Niagara Frontier Bible Church, Lewiston, and spent much time serving the Lord through a variety of ministries at the church as well as in their home. She also enjoyed sharing her home with many international students at Niagara University through International Students, Inc., a Christian friendship ministry. Eleanor was the anchor of her family and loved making times together very special. The many family traditions will continue to be cherished by her family that she so loved. Eleanor was a strong prayer warrior and touched the lives of many. She loved studying the Bible, quilting, sewing, gardening, playing the organ, offering hospitality, cooking, and baking.
Eleanor is survived by her five children: Elizabeth (William) Livingston, Dublin, OH, Ruth Larson, Lewiston, NY, Charles (Mary) Larson, Lewiston, NY, David (Beth) Larson, Ithaca, NY, Karen (Stephen) Fisher, Lewiston, NY; eleven grandchildren: Laura (Justin) Gardner, David (Hepsheba) Livingston, Jonathan (Kirsten) Larson, Benjamin Larson, Jill (Timothy) Curcione, Joseph Larson, Daniel Larson, Jay (Sean) Larson, Amber (Kevin) Wise, Philip Larson, Jesse Larson; seven great-grandchildren: Brooke and Jacob Gardner, Noah, Adelyn, Corinne, and Verity Larson, Fletcher Wise; her four sisters: Kathy Hockaday, Carol Hernandez, Claire (Robert) Knapp, Martha Smith. Also surviving is her predeceased granddaughter’s husband Khup Ngaihte
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, parents, and granddaughter Hannah Ngaihte.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 on Friday, September 2, at Hardison Funeral Home, N. Fourth and Ridge Streets, Lewiston, NY. There will be a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, at Niagara Frontier Bible Church, 5287 Bronson Drive, Lewiston, NY.
