Jeffrey C. Hessney

Jeffrey C. Hessney, age 64, of Lewiston entered into rest on Thursday, May 11th, 2023, at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY. Jeffrey was born on July 31st, 1958, in Niagara Falls, NY. He is the son of the late John “Jack” and the late Janet (Wickham) Hessney. Jeffrey was a 1977 graduate of Lew-Port CSD.

He was employed by USPS in Youngstown and Lewiston as a postal carrier for 30 plus years.

Jeffrey was known as the “unofficial Mayor of Lewiston”, he was an avid golfer, softball player, he enjoyed going to concerts at Artpark, boating, fishing, plain hamburgers and riding his new electric bike. Jeffrey was a very lucky person when it came to drawings, raffles, and pools.

He is survived by his longtime partner, Monica Minarcin; his siblings, Dr. Joanne Hessney M.D., J. Susan Hessney (Lawrence Schwartz); his sister in-law, Jill Hessney; his 2 nieces, Samantha (Craig) Nash; and Carly Schwartz; his nephew, nephew, Benjamin Hessney (Allie Harshberger); the entire Minarcin family who loved him like a brother and uncle, also his beloved dog Mitchell. Jeffrey is predeceased by his brother J. Steven Hessney.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 16th from 2-6 PM. at Hardison Funeral Homes Inc., 401 Ridge St. (N. Fourth & Ridge Streets), Lewiston, NY. A service will immediately follow at 6:00 PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Oakland Rural Cemetery.
