Ronald “Ron” C. Martin, age 77, of Youngstown died Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport. Ron was born November 14, 1945 in Lockport, the son of the late Lawrence and Violet (Raff) Martin.
He was employed by Leaseway (Anchor Motor Freight) as a Truck Driver for 26 years, retiring in 2010. Ron currently worked for the Ransomville Speedway and Lawta Farms. He was involved in auto racing and sponsored his son's race team, Ron Martin Motorsports. He enjoyed playing cards and spending his mornings with the “crew” at Dunkin Donuts in Ransomville. Ron was also an Exempt Member of the Ransomville Volunteer Fire Co.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (Reubens) Martin who he married on September 8, 1979; his children, Dennis (Diana) Martin; Lynette (Sam) Southard, Greg (Nicole) Martin, and Pam (Chad) Lederhouse; two sisters, Carol Greene and Sheryl (Clifford) Simmons; a brother, Edward (Debbie) Martin; his grandchildren, Stacey, Christopher, Jacob, Victoria, Emily, Aaron, Mason, Chase, Cameron, Ari, Lexi, Noah, and Olivia; his beloved dog, Frankie, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Lisman.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd. Ransomville on Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm. A Memorial Service with Dr. Rev. Garry Seefeldt officiating will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am in the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905, Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094, or to the Ransomville Vol. Fire Co.
