William F. Young, age 100, of Youngstown died Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at his home under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice. Mr. Young was born May 6, 1922 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late William D. and Mina E. (Schumacher) Young. William attended local schools and in 1954 graduated from Elmira College which prior to that date had only offered degrees to women. During WW II he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1942 to his honorable discharge in 1946. His 36 months of sea duty was aboard the USS Lamberton and the USS Iowa in the Pacific Theater.
William retired from Moore Business Forms in 1988 as Corporate Director of Cost and Pricing Operations, having worked with many of its' worldwide facilities as well as in Niagara Falls, Elmira, and Park Ridge, IL.
He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Helen (Muisiner) Young, who died December 17, 2003. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, and devoted Health Aids and kind neighbors. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard W. Young.
Private burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Niagara Falls. There will be no prior visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
