Allen "Al" G. Richards, Sr.

Allen “Al” G. Richards, Sr., of Ransomville, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. He was 83.

Born in Niagara Falls, NY, Al was the son of the late Glenn and Stella (Miko) Richards. He attended Lewiston-Porter Central Schools before proudly serving his country in the United States Army for four years.

On February 18, 1967, he married the former Sharon A. Smith, with whom he shared 31 years of marriage until her passing on November 5, 1998. Al later found love again, marrying Linda L. (Haslett) Truesdale on September 29, 2001, in the Youngstown Presbyterian Church. Together, Al and Linda have shared nearly 25 wonderful years.

Al was an avid Buffalo sports fan, faithfully cheering on the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. Al worked as a truck driver for Praxiar for many years and retired from Sorrento Cheese in 2008. Known for his easygoing nature and steady presence, Al was a man who valued family, loyalty, and simple joys.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Sharon, Al was predeceased by his loving daughter, Deborah Richards, and his caring siblings, Barbara and Frank Richards.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda L. Richards; his loving children, Allen “A.J.” (Alice) Richards, Jr. and David (Debbie) Richards; and his dear stepchildren, Amy (Jon Zwerling) Truesdale and Jennifer Truesdale. Al was the cherished grandfather of Bradley (Angela), Cheyenne, Ellen, and Calvin, and the adored “Big Grandpa” of Clara and Evelyn; caring brother of Rita (Michael) Donovan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and Joseph Scarfone, the dear friend and fiancé of his late daughter, Deborah.

Arrangements are entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville.
