Charles D. "Charlie" Oliphant

Charles D. “Charlie” Oliphant, 32, of Youngstown, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Born on May 11, 1994 in Lewiston, NY, he was the beloved son of Robert C. and Maribeth D. (Drendall) Oliphant. Charlie was a graduate of Niagara Academy and continued his education at Niagara County Community College. Most recently, he attended the Nazareth Guitar Institute and American Archtop Guitars in Pennsylvania, beginning his heartfelt journey toward becoming a luthier.

Charlie was a creator, a collector of beauty, and someone who found joy in the details of life. Whether searching for vintage treasures with his mom, strumming his guitar, tending to his cherished gardens, or crafting one-of-a-kind wire‑wrapped jewelry for those he loved, he poured his whole heart into everything he touched. His gentle spirit, artistic eye, and quiet generosity left an imprint on all who knew him.

Charlie was predeceased by his brother, Benjamin J. Oliphant.

He is survived by his parents, Robert C. (Shelly) Oliphant and Maribeth (Doug) Lorenze; his caring brother, Thomas (Kaila Kise) Oliphant; and is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.

The family will be present on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 5–7 PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, where Funeral Services will follow at 7 PM. Friends invited.
