Darlene L. Jeffords

Darlene L. Jeffords of Youngstown, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and under the compassionate care of Niagara Hospice House. She was 61 years old.

Born on April 27, 1964, in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late D.L. Crowell and Edith Tweed. A graduate of Lewiston-Porter High School, Darlene went on to dedicate her life to the care of others. As a Residential Manager with the Western New York DDSO, she found great purpose in serving individuals with disabilities, advocating for their dignity and well-being in the homes she helped nurture.

Darlene lived life with kindness and quiet strength, finding joy in simple pleasures—shopping excursions, camping adventures, and tending to her garden, where flowers bloomed beneath her gentle touch. But nothing brought her more happiness than time spent with her beloved grandchildren, whose lives she lit up with unconditional love.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Troy Elson.

Darlene is survived by her devoted children: Christie Elson, Rebecca Jeffords (Anthony Mang), Nichole Jeffords (Kyle Quiett), and Travis Mis; and her cherished grandchildren: Alexa, Anthony, Avery, Makenzie, Maxwell, Mack, and Colton. She is also lovingly remembered by her seven sisters, former husband Jay Jeffords, her godfather, Edwin Dolan and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will be present to receive friends on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 3:00–7:00 PM at HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC, 401 Ridge Street, Lewiston. A private interment will take place at Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Darlene’s honor to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
