Dorothy M. Thuman

Dorothy M. “Dot” Thuman, of the Town of Pendleton, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2026, under the compassionate care of Niagara Hospice. She was 92.

Born in Lockport, NY on April 29, 1933, Dot was the daughter of the late William and Florence (Steblein) Cronk. A quiet, gentle soul, she found her greatest joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life, especially time spent with her beloved grandchildren. She could often be found watching one of her favorite television shows or reading her Bible, a source of comfort and strength throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, Dot was predeceased by her devoted husband, James R. Thuman; her loving daughter, Katherine LaPort; and her siblings, William and Betty Cronk.

She is survived by her cherished grandchildren, Mark (Tara) Vaccarello, Kimberly Fleckenstein, and Lizabeth (Jeremy) Lehrkamp; and her adored great‑grandchildren, Samantha (Brent), Nicholas (Korah), Stephen (Adriana), Andrew, and Elise. Dot is also survived by her sister, Mary Ruth Powley, along with extended family and friends who will remember her with love.

Arrangements are entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11 AM at the Pendleton Center United Methodist Church, 6864 Campbell Blvd., North Tonawanda, NY 14120. Friends are invited to attend.
