Edward Bank, Sr.

Edward Bank, Sr., formerly of Youngstown and Ransomville, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, in San Antonio, TX, at the age of 97.

Born in Niagara Falls, NY, Edward was the son of the late Martin and Catherine (née Gwdozdziak) Bank. On May 6, 1950, he married Genevieve “Gene” Marie Raymond, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned 70 years. Together, they built a life rooted in love and hard work, raising six children in the home they constructed on Porter Center Road in Lewiston, and later on their farm in Ransomville.

Edward was a proud and dedicated employee of DuPont Corporation in Niagara Falls, where he worked until his retirement in 1985. His quiet strength, steady presence, and deep commitment to family and church were hallmarks of his character. He was a man who found joy in the simple 'pleasures of life,' supporting his family and loved ones. Edward was especially proud of his farm, teaching his children and grandchildren about the values of hard work and the rewards of growing gardens, crops and raising animals.Edward's legacy will live on in the lives he touched and the family he nurtured. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife Gene; his son Edward Bank, Jr.; and his siblings William Sr., Stella, Helen, Genevieve, Matthew, Joseph, and Sopie.

Edward is survived by his loving children: Diane (Donald) Williams of San Antonio, TX; Robert (Lynn) Bank of Tybee Island, GA; Catherine (Michael) Burns-Jones of Lewiston, NY; Patricia (Thomas) Wasley of Monument, CO; and Danny (Lisa) Bank of Granville, OH. He was a cherished grandfather to Brenda J. Rodenberg, Zack Treichler, Jennifer (Andy) Potter, Donald (Jannet) Williams, Michael (Raeland) Williams, Sarah (Tony) Clement, R. Joseph Burns, Jason (Jackie) Burns, Jared (Chelsea) Burns, Bradley Bank and Dylan Bank; he was also the proud great-grandfather to 15. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly. Especially, Brenda D. (David Gombert) Bank of Youngstown, NY, a dear niece who shared a very special bond with her "Uncle Ed."

Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, NY. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family, with committal in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to FeedMore WNY, 100 James E.
