Our wonderful brother, Edward “Ed” Joseph Wysocki, passed away, supported by family on Monday, March 16, 2026 from the devastating effect of ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He was 65 years old.

Ed was born on May 16, 1960 to Catherine (Sweeney) and Edward Wysocki of Youngstown, NY. As it was for most of us fortunate enough to grow up in Youngstown at that time, his childhood was spent playing pond hockey, front yard football, and getting into the kind of mischief that had us all wondering how we survived childhood.

A graduate of Lewiston Porter High School, Ed was a hard worker and a lifelong union man. When he was diagnosed with ALS, he had recently retired from Local 4 International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers, and was spending his retirement enjoying early mornings on the golf course, winters skiing and planning a dream trip to Europe.

Ed loved to be the first golfer on the course, and expressed how the solitude and beauty of the rising sun and mist over the course gave him great peace and awe in its beauty. We hope that he is now experiencing this great peace.

Ed was a loving and loved son, brother and uncle, and is survived by his siblings Daniel, William, Dianne, David, Rosanna and Kathy Wysocki as well as his siblings in spirit Elizabeth and Rick Foreman and Ernie Ventry and his Godchild and niece, Allison Hamilton, his Godson and nephew, Peter Wysocki, his niece Carrie Ann Button, and his nephews, Samuel, Nathan, David and Paul Wysocki.

The family will be present to receive friends on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 5-7 PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville. A Mass of Christan Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from St. Bernard Church, 218 Hinman Street, Youngstown at 10 AM. Family and friends are asked to please assemble at the church.

In lieu of flowers, please remember Ed with a donation to the ALS Association. We hope for a future where those like Ed are able to enjoy long lives, and retirements full of golf, travel and joy, instead of having their lives cut short by this horrible disease.
