August 16, 1937 — November 22, 2025

Ransomville, New York

Eldora I. "Polly" Redmond, Ransomville, NY – Eldora I. Redmond, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Kenmore Mercy Hospital.

Born August 16, 1937, in Ogdensburg, NY, she was the daughter of the late Henry S. and Beatrice (nee Chateau) Pollard. On January 10, 1956, Eldora married the love of her life, Edward A. Redmond, in Ogdensburg. Together they moved to Niagara County that same year, where they built a life rooted in devotion to family and community. Ed predeceased her in August of 2013, after 57 years of marriage.

Eldora found joy in life’s simple pleasures—working jigsaw puzzles, caring for dogs, and following horse racing, especially the Kentucky Derby, where she delighted in choosing a grey horse or a mare as her favorite. Above all, her family was her greatest treasure. She was known for her selflessness, always placing her husband and children before herself, and her legacy of love and care will live on through them.

In addition to her parents, Eldora was predeceased by her siblings Sonny (late Florence) Pollard, Kay Pollard, Mary Margaret (late Donny) Griffin, and Claudette Chateau, as well as her brother-in-law, Carl Smith. She is survived by her loving children, Edward (Tina) Redmond, Jr., Joann (Douglas) Stevens, Thomas (Debbie) Redmond, Sr., Denis (Candy) Redmond, and Nicky (Mark) Feor; 13 cherished grandchildren; and 10 adored great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear sister Sally Smith, along with many nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.

Arrangements are entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 2–6 PM at the O.
