Elizabeth Rose Burkhart, of Ransomville, NY, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the ones who loved her most, on Sunday, January 11, 2026. She was 78.
Born on August 13, 1947, in Los Angeles, California, she was the daughter of the late Doyle M. and Sylvia B. (née Taub) Burkhart. Liz lived a life defined by service, devotion, and quiet strength. In 1969, she proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, where her dedication and leadership earned her advancement to Officer 4. She retired honorably in 1994 after 25 years of distinguished service to her country.
Liz shared more than 45 years of deep, unwavering love with Patricia Ann Fellenz. The two were married on November 11, 2020, in Niagara Falls, New York, a joyful celebration of a bond that had long been the foundation of their lives.
In her youth, Liz enjoyed playing volleyball, a sport that reflected her energetic spirit. She later became an avid and talented golfer, known for her skill on the course and her willingness to offer thoughtful advice to others hoping to improve their swing. She also found joy in quilting, creating pieces that were as warm and thoughtful as she was—and she loved taking trips to the casino, where she embraced the fun and excitement of the moment.
The family will be present to receive friends on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 11 AM to 12 PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville. Military Honors will be rendered at 12 PM in recognition of Liz’s proud service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Liz’s honor to the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation.
