Frank Ward Fenn, born March 15, 1932, in Mankato, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Raised in Western New York after his family moved there during his childhood, he grew up on the family farm and went on to build his life and legacy there.
In time, Ward took over the farm and ran the business until his retirement in 2000. He then moved to Hartwell, Georgia, where he spent 25 years before recently returning to Western New York to be near his loved ones.
Born to the late Frank H. Fenn and Katherine “Salome” (Bigelow) Fenn, Ward built a life grounded in hard work, devotion, and simple joys. A lifelong farmer, he took great pride in the land he tended and in the values it instilled. He also enjoyed the camaraderie of playing cards and found quiet satisfaction in woodworking, crafting pieces that reflected both his patience and his skill.
Ward was predeceased by his two sisters, Carol Tabler and her husbands, Kenneth Tabler and Joseph Burek, and Frances Bradley and her husband, Clifford Bradley.
Ward is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Carol Ann (Franklin) Fenn, with whom he shared a lifetime of partnership and unwavering love. He leaves behind four cherished children: W. Michael (Cheryl) Fenn, Mary F. (Jim Warren) Schultz, James F. (Kathryn) Fenn, and Genie F. (Richard) Evancho. He is also survived by his special niece, Gail Zachary; five grandchildren—James Schultz (Katie), Hollie Schultz (Joseph Barrett), Julian Fenn, Morgan Fenn, and Ryan Balch; seven great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews, and dear friends from Hartwell, Georgia, who meant so much to him and were a cherished part of his life.
Ward’s legacy lives on in the family he adored, the friendships he nurtured, and the countless memories shaped by his steady presence and generous spirit.
Arrangements will be announced by Hardison Funeral Homes, Inc., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville.
If desired, memorials may be made in Ward’s Honor to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
