Gerda T. Fricke

Gerda T. Fricke, formerly of Lewiston, NY, entered into rest peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Mercy Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility in Lackawanna, NY. She was 89.

Born in Rathenow, Germany on October 24, 1936, Gerda was the daughter of the late John H. and Josephine A. (née Schiesser) Biedenwig. After immigrating to the United States, she graduated from Lewiston-Porter High School and built a life rooted in family, love, and quiet strength. In 1960, she married the love of her life, Hans D. Fricke, at the Red Coach Inn in Niagara Falls. They shared many wonderful years together until his passing in 1987.

Gerda’s greatest joy was her family. Time spent with her children and grandchildren brought her endless happiness and purpose. She also found fulfillment in the simple pleasures of life, tending to her garden, preparing meals with care, and creating a warm, welcoming home for those she loved.

She is survived by her devoted children, Christopher J. W. Fricke and Suzanne J. E. Marra; her cherished grandchildren, Peter J. H. Marra and Grace J. Marra; her dear sister, Helga Bishop; caring sister-in-law, Uta Schroeder. She will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew her.

Arrangements entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 401 Ridge Street, Lewiston. Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
