Joanne M. McGrew

Joanne M. McGrew, of Ransomville, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, under the compassionate care of Niagara Hospice. She was 90.

Born in Rochester, NY, Joanne was the daughter of the late Louis C. and Ruth (Ferguson) Capadano. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and dear friend whose kindness, strength, and steady presence enriched the lives of all who knew her.Joanne married Thomas L. McGrew, and together they made their home in Ransomville, creating a warm and welcoming place for family and friends. Sadly, Thomas passed away in 1990.

Joanne lived a full and joyful life. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and selling fresh produce at both the Niagara Falls and North Tonawanda Farm Markets. She loved playing Euchre with friends and family, but her greatest joy came from time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great‑grandchildren. Her gentle spirit and devotion to her family will be remembered always.

In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, Thomas, Joanne was predeceased by her loving son, Eugene (late Patricia) McGrew; her son‑in‑law's, David Willilams and Michael Tucker; and her brothers, Robert and William Vardy.

She is survived by her loving children, Bob (Chollada) McGrew, Shawn (Lara) McGrew, Debby Williams, Carrie (Michael) Munella, Tammy (Robert) Royal, Nora Tucker, and Kathy (Richard) Covatta; many cherished grandchildren and adored great‑grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 3–7 PM at HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, where Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 10 AM. Interment will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria. Friends invited.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joanne’s honor to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, American Lung Association or the Pekin Fire Company.
