John D. Hanavan

John D. Hanavan, age 71, of Lockport, NY husband of Margaret Hanavan (nee Guy) passed away at home on March 28th, 2023, following a battle with cancer. He was born on October 24th, 1951, in Buffalo , NY. John is the son of the late Louise Mcosker ( nee Baumgartner) and Raymond Mcosker. John was an orthopedic Nurse Practitioner for 30 plus years working lastly at Southgate Medical Group and previously at U.B Sports Medicine. He was a member of the National Ski Patrol, loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, he enjoyed hunting, camping, skiing, riding his tractor and spending time at “Bliss” .

Surviving is his wife, Margaret “Peggy/Margie” Hanavan; dear father of Paul (Joseph) Gallego, Jamie (Matthew) Koban, and Ryan (Maranda) Bockhahn; “Gramps” of Camden, Adelynne, Grayson, Maddison and Olivia; brother of Keli Rae Shea. He is predeceased by his daughter Lauren Hanavan.

Friends and family may call on THURSDAY from 4-7 PM. at the Hardison Funeral Home Inc. 3648 Ransomville Rd. Ransomville, NY 14131. A service will conclude the calling hours at 7:00 PM.

A celebration of life will be held on SATURDAY April 1st between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM at the New York Beer Project 6933 S. Transit Rd. Lockport, NY 14094. Please feel free to stop by and help celebrate John.
