Linda A. Zimmerman, of Ransomville, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Newfane Health Care Center. She was 78.
Born on July 8, 1947, in Niagara Falls, NY, Linda was the daughter of the late George W. and Geraldine N. (née Etherton). A proud graduate of Wilson Central School, Class of 1964, she built a life rooted in family, hard work, and the simple joys that brought her happiness.
On December 8, 1967, Linda married the love of her life, Ronald J. Zimmerman, in Lockport, NY. They shared 32 years of marriage before his passing on January 13, 2000.
Linda worked as a baker at the Dorwood Storn and later as a cook for Johnston’s Family Restaurant and The Depot, where her talent and warmth were appreciated by many. She also cared for countless children over the years as a devoted babysitter, becoming a beloved presence in the lives of many families.
A gifted cook, knitter, and crocheter, Linda found joy in creating and sharing with others. Her greatest happiness came from time spent with her grandchildren, so much so that she installed a swing in her living room just for them. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Linda was predeceased by her cherished grandson, Christopher Moore; her mother-in-law, Mildred Zimmerman; and her sister-in-law, Sharon Zimmerman.
She is survived by her loving children, Ronald (Christa) Zimmerman, Jr., Robyn (Robert) Moore, and Albert “Smo” (Courtney) Zimmerman; her treasured grandchildren, Heather (Joe Heist) Rickard, Tyler (Caitlin McHenry) Moore, Kayla Wollaber, Harper Zimmerman, and Hunter Zimmerman; and eight adored great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear brother, Russell (Melody) Whyte; her father-in-law, Albert J. Zimmerman; her brother-in-law, Russ Zimmerman; her sister-in-law, Debby Smith; as well as many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 4–7 PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, where Funeral Services will follow at 7 PM. A private interment will take place in North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria.
