Lois C. Canida

Lois C. Canida, of the Town of Cambria, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the age of 79.

Born in Niagara Falls, NY, on January 16, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Milford and Audria (Graves) Weller. Lois was a graduate of Starpoint High School and went on to earn her associate degree from Bryant & Stratton College. She was employed for over 20 years with the DuPont Corporation, where she worked as a computer programmer and was respected for her skill, dedication, and professionalism.

Lois was married to the late Terry L. Canida for over 30 years, sharing a life grounded in love, commitment. Known for her generous heart, Lois found joy in helping others, often perfect strangers, simply because it was in her nature to do so. She was also a devoted Duke Basketball fan, and enjoyed March Madness, when she cheered passionately for her team.

She is survived by her children, Dana Varney, Cathy Hebeler, Barbara Varney, Debra (Jeremy) Zevetchin, Yvonne (Brian) D’Aloise, Donald Varney, Pam Kelkenberg, Tina (Dave) Gollhardt, and Tammy (Tom) Noe; and was the proud grandmother of 22 grandchildren and three great‑grandchildren.

Arrangements by the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, NY. Private interment services will be held in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery.
