Lois M. Piva, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the age of 96, following a lengthy illness.
Born on June 8, 1930, in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Gladys (Williard) Brant. Lois worked for Pollards Manufacturing Co. in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and later for the Carborundum Company in Niagara Falls before dedicating herself to the role she cherished most, being a full‑time homemaker. On December 2, 1952, she married John Piva, and together they made their home in Lewiston beginning in 1958.
Lois was a devoted member of St. Peter R.C. Church in Lewiston. She will be remembered as the loving center of her family, steadfast, warm, and deeply committed to those she held dear.In addition to her parents,
Lois was predeceased by her beloved husband, John, in 2011; her cherished granddaughter, Hannah; her caring brother, Clifford Brant; and several cousins and in‑laws.
She is survived by her loving children, Richard (Adrienne) Piva, Daniel (Tami) Piva, Ronald Piva, Sandra Piva, David (Deborah) Piva, and Susan (William) MacDonell; her cherished grandchildren, Ryan, Brandon (Juliette), Gina, James, Matthew, Emily (Alex), and Samantha; and her adored great‑grandchildren, Teddy, Julian, and Benny.
There will be no prior visitation. Arrangements entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 401 Ridge Street, Lewiston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 10, 2026 from St. Peter R.C. Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston at 9 AM. Family and friends are asked to please assemble at the church. Inurnment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lois’s honor to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
