Marie L. (Schroeder) Marshall, of Ransomville, NY, passed away Wednesday, February 18, after a brief illness. She was born March 19, 1930 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the oldest of 13 children born to Roland and Evelyn (Anderson) Schroeder. Her family moved to Niagara Falls in the 1940's where she met her future husband, Richard H. Marshall. They married October 28, 1950 and moved to Ransomville, built their home and raised their family of seven. She was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Youngstown, served on the Altar Guild and sang in the choir. She was an avid quilter and member of the Rip 'N Stitch quilt club in Youngstown.
She is predeceased by her husband Richard, sons Stephen and John, grandson James; siblings Roald, Arthur, David, George (late Linda), Peter (late Patricia) Schroeder and Elizabeth (late Milton) Holland; son-in-law, Don Vought and brother-in-law, Ward Knight.She is survived by her loving children Richard (Tina) Marshall, Anne Vought, David (Lynn) Marshall, Debra (Mark) Kirkland and Judy Marshall; dear grandmother to Carolyn (Randy) Boone, Laura (Steve) Eggart, Elizabeth "Beth", Brandon (Jaime), Robert (Mercedes) Marshall and Allison (Shawn) Van Vliet; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings Caroline Knight, Timothy (Maria), Robert (Bridget), Jane, James (Joyce) and Thomas (Jean) Schroeder; sister-in-laws, Dorothy, Joan and Jackie Schroeder; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements entrusted to the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 at St. John Lutheran Church, Youngstown at 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Niagara Hospice or St. John Lutheran Church in her memory.
