Mary L. Christy

May 22, 1934 — July 2, 2025

Ransomville, New York

Mary Louise Christy of Ransomville’s Rainbow Park community peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, while under the compassionate care of Elderwood Health Care at Wheatfield.

Born on May 22, 1934 in North Tonawanda, NY, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Anthony and Helen (née Greenburg) DiBesco. A proud graduate of Tonawanda High School’s Class of 1952, she began her working years at Buffalo Pumps before dedicating herself to service in the local community through roles at Bells Supermarket and Tops Supermarket in Lewiston. Even in retirement, she remained active, sharing her time and talents at Wienkies Greenhouse and Senek Farms.

Mary’s life was beautifully rooted in faith, family, and the joy of togetherness—especially during Christmas, her favorite time of year. She had a generous heart, a gentle presence, and a fierce devotion to those she loved.

She is predeceased by her dear parents; her beloved children, Anthony T. Christy and Dorotha (late Dennis) Dennehey; her brother-in-law, Edward Gonzalez; and sister-in-law, Barbara DiBesco.

Mary is survived by her loving children: Thomas (Cindy) Christy, Donna (John) Dale, Victor Christy, and Catherine (William) Lord. She was the cherished grandmother of 18, great-grandmother of 21, and great-great-grandmother of 2, each of whom brought immense pride and joy to her life. She is also survived by her devoted siblings, Margaret Gonzalez and Anthony DiBesco, as well as many nieces and nephews whose lives she touched with her warmth and kindness.
