Mary Jane Dutter

Mary Jane Dutter of Lewiston, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on November 28, 1961, in Auburn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Theron and Jane (nee Delaney) Traver.

Mary Jane was a 1979 graduate of Southern Cayuga Central School in Poplar Ridge, NY, and continued her education at Morrisville College, graduating in 1981. On May 11, 1985, she married the love of her life, Robert J. Dutter, in Scipio Center, NY. Together they built a life centered on family, devotion, and shared joy.

She worked as a Sales Coordinator with Waste Management, where she was known for her dedication, professionalism, and warm spirit. Outside of work, Mary Jane’s greatest happiness came from time spent with her children and grandchildren. She and her family were proud season ticket holders for Niagara Basketball, traveling often to cheer on and support their team. Her love for Disney was unmatched—she treasured trips to Orlando and delighted in creating magical memories with her family at the Disney Parks.

In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was predeceased by her caring brother, Frederick Traver.

She is survived by her beloved husband and best friend, Robert; her loving children, Steven Dutter and Rebecca Dutter; and her cherished grandchildren, Marcus, Lana, and Krue. She is also survived by her dear siblings, David (Camille) Traver and Sharon (Glenn) Botsford; along with many nieces, nephews, and caring friends who will forever hold her memory close.

The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 10–11 AM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 401 Ridge Street, Lewiston, where Funeral Services will follow at 11 AM. Friends invited.
