Mildred “Millie” P. Coulter, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home. She was 94.
Born on February 22, 1931, in Niagara Falls, Millie was the beloved daughter of the late William and Dorothy (nee Scofield) Galley. She began her working life at Spirella Garment Company, where she was known for her dedication and warm spirit.
On December 16, 1950, Millie married her beloved husband, Orville M. Coulter, and together they shared a life filled with love and adventure. In 1978, they moved to Andalusia, Alabama, where they spent many happy years until Orville’s passing in 1989. Millie returned to Western New York in 1994, where she remained close to family and friends.
Millie was a woman of faith and fellowship. She was a devoted member of North Ridge United Methodist Church and actively participated in the Sanborn Senior Group, Ransomville and Newfane Seniors, and the Friendship Card Club. Her kindness, humor, and gentle presence enriched every gathering.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Orville; her loving son Gary Coulter; and her dear siblings Eva (late James) Elmer, June Contis, Doreen Hart, Janet (late Paul) Burgess, and William “Bill” Galley.
Millie is survived by her loving children, Mark M. (Cheryl) Coulter and Randy S. (Pamela) Coulter; her dear daughter-in-law, Debra Coulter; cherished grandchildren, Mark Jr. (Beth), Keith (Bonny), Nicole (Corey), Ryan, Matthew and Jason; and adored great-grandchildren, Hunter, Morgan, Mason, Randy, Ailani, Austin, and Aliyah. She is also survived by her caring sister, Janice (Jim) Krygier; sisters-in-law, Linda Galley and Ruby Coulter; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 3–7 PM at HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 10 AM at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Niagara Falls Memorial Park, Lewiston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Millie’s honor to North Ridge United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.
