Nicholette A. Charbonneau, lovingly known to all as Nickie, of Lockport, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. She was only 40, a vibrant spirit gone far too soon.

Born on September 5, 1986, in Lockport, NY, Nickie was the cherished daughter of Bruce R. and the late Jane E. (Welker) Charbonneau. She grew up surrounded by family, laughter, and the kind of close-knit love that shaped her into the outgoing, magnetic person she became. A proud graduate of Starpoint High School, Class of 2004, Nickie went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Business from SUNY Fredonia in 2008, an accomplishment she held with pride.

Nickie was, in every sense, a people person. She had a rare gift for connection; wherever she went, she lit up the room. Her smile was infectious, her laugh unmistakable, and her presence impossible to ignore. She was the life of the party, the friend who showed up, the one everyone gravitated toward. Whether she was behind the bar, serving tables, or simply walking into a gathering, Nickie carried an energy that made others feel welcomed, seen, and appreciated. Over the years, she worked as a waitress and bartender for several local establishments, forming countless friendships and touching innumerable lives along the way.

Above all, Nickie loved her family. No matter how busy life became, she always found time, time to visit, time to talk, time to show up. Her devotion to those she loved was unwavering, and she poured her heart into every relationship she held dear.

Nickie is survived by her loving father, Bruce; her devoted sister, Jolette (Christopher) Markham; adored aunt of, Owen and Olivia; and her former husband, Kenneth Leible. She is also survived by a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, each of whom carries a piece of her bright spirit forward.

There will be no prior visitation. Arrangements entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville. A Celebration of Nickie’s Life will be announced at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory, share stories, and remember the joy she brought into the world.
