Patricia Ann Fellenz, of Ransomville, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026, under the compassionate care of Niagara Hospice. She was 88.

Born on October 5, 1937, in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Howard R. and Viva (Price) Fellenz. Pat was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the Buffalo General Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1958.

In 1959, Pat proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, beginning a distinguished career as a Navy nurse. She served faithfully until her retirement in 1971, earning the respect of her colleagues and the gratitude of countless service members under her care. Her commitment to duty was shaped early in life, having been stationed with her family at Pearl Harbor as a young child, she witnessed the historic 1941 attack. That experience forged the resilience and strength that defined her throughout her life.

Following her military retirement, Pat continued her professional journey as a Legal Service Professional specializing in patents, applying her sharp mind and meticulous nature to a new field of service.

The absolute center of Pat’s world was her wife and the love of her life, Elizabeth Rose Burkhart. Together for an extraordinary 45 years, they officially married on November 11, 2020, in Niagara Falls, celebrating a bond built on devotion, shared adventures, and unwavering love. After Elizabeth’s passing in January, Pat missed her deeply. Her family finds comfort in knowing that the distance between them is gone, and they are now peacefully reunited.

Pat lived a life rich with passions. She enjoyed golfing. She also enjoyed rug hooking, creating intricate designs with patience and artistry. And she never turned down the thrill of a casino visit, Pat loved a good gamble and the excitement of the slot machines.

Those who knew her best will remember her spark. Pat possessed a wicked sense of humor, told things exactly as she saw them, and kept everyone laughing. Her honesty, her laughter, and her unmistakable presence brought joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Pat leaves behind a remarkable legacy of service, laughter, and a legendary love story.

The family will be present on Monday, September 7, 2026, from 10 AM to 11 AM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, where Funeral Services will follow at 11 AM. Military Honors will conclude the service. A private interment of Pat and Liz will take place in Western New York National Cemetery.
