Robert C. “Bob” Leggett, 70, of Wilson, NY, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Niagara Falls, NY, Bob was the firstborn child of Robert and Betty Lou (Peters) Leggett. A proud 1973 graduate of Wilson High School, Bob built a life rooted in hard work, devotion, and quiet generosity. He dedicated over 35 years as an operational engineer at LaFarge North stone quarry in Niagara Falls, earning the respect of colleagues and friends alike before his well-earned retirement.
On February 24, 1979, Bob married Linda A. Metzler in the Ransomville Free Methodist Church, beginning a partnership that spanned 46 years and was marked by deep love and unwavering support. Together, they raised three children who carry forward his legacy of kindness, resilience, and humor.
Bob found joy in the outdoors, whether hunting in the woods or working on his dream cabin in the Southern Tier, he was most at peace surrounded by nature. His culinary talents were legendary within the family, and his meals were more than nourishment, they were expressions of love, often served with a side of laughter and storytelling. Bob’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, a man who built, nurtured, and loved with quiet strength and enduring grace.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda; his children, Elizabeth (Larry) Dole, Jennifer (Greg) Taper, and Scott Leggett; and his beloved grandchildren, Matthew and Addison, who brought him endless pride and joy. Bob also leaves behind his brothers, Steve (Laurie) Leggett and Michael (Kelly) Leggett, along with several nieces and nephews who will remember his warmth and wit.
