Robin S. Balcom

Robin S. Balcom, of Corning, NY, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, at the Niagara Hospice House. He was 72.

Born on July 16, 1953, in Ransomville, NY, Robin was the son of the late Loren P. and Sybil G. (née Brenchley) Balcom. He was a 1971 graduate of Lewiston-Porter High School and went on to earn his degree from Alfred State in 1973.

Robin began his career with Corning Glass in 1974, where he worked until his retirement in 2001. Eight years later, he returned to the workforce with World Kitchen, contributing an additional five years of dedicated service. Known for his strong work ethic and steady presence, Robin built lasting friendships throughout his career.

A man who found joy in the outdoors and in hands-on pursuits, Robin enjoyed hiking with his club in Corning, NY, and spent many fulfilling hours working on cars and motorcycles. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, who will remember him for his quiet strength, gentle humor, and unwavering love.

In addition to his parents, Robin was predeceased by his brother, Loren W. Balcom.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Alexandra (Toto) Marchand of Stafford, VA; his caring siblings, Kevin (Diane) Balcom and Daryl (Lisa) Balcom; and his dear sister-in-law, Barbara Balcom. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews who will hold his memory close.

Arrangements are entrusted to the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville. A private graveside service will be held in Niagara Falls Memorial Park, Lewiston, NY.
