Ronald "Ron" E. Anderson of Youngstown, NY, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2026, at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home in Lewiston, New York. He was 85 years old.
Born on October 3, 1941, in Niagara Falls, New York, Ron was the son of the late Joseph Francis and Martha Frances (Urbaniak) Andrzejewski. He was a lifelong resident of Youngstown and a proud member of the community he called home throughout his life.
On September 24, 1962, Ron married the former Marketta "Kete" Fouts. Together, they shared a love and devotion that endured until Kete's passing in 2008.
Ron was a hardworking man who took great pride in everything he did. He faithfully served his community as a firefighter with the Niagara Falls Fire Department, worked as a caretaker and groundskeeper at Oakland Rural Cemetery in Youngstown, and drove a school bus for the Lewiston-Porter Central School District for many years. He also retired from Harrison Radiator, a division of General Motors, following a long and dedicated career.
When he wasn't working, Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting, visiting the casino, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills. A talented and creative craftsman, he spent countless hours alongside Kete making concrete yard figurines, a pastime they both loved and enjoyed sharing with others.
Above all, Ron cherished time spent with his family. The holidays were especially meaningful to him, as gathering together to make homemade pierogies became a treasured family tradition. In his later years, Ron embraced his faith, was baptized, and found comfort, strength, and fellowship through his church community.
Ron will be remembered for his strong work ethic, creative spirit, unwavering love for his family, and the many memories he created with those around him. Though his presence will be deeply missed, the traditions he established and the love he shared will continue through generations of family.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Kete, Ron was predeceased by his loving son, Ronald J. Anderson; his brother, Richard (late Sharon) Anderson; and his sister, Lory (late John) Reale.
He is survived by his loving children, Lori (Doug) Anderson, Robin (Tina) Anderson, and Veronica "Ronnie Jean" Anderson; his cherished grandchildren, Tania, Sean, Malorie, Felicia, and Dominique; and his adored great-grandchildren, Harrison, Clarke, and Rylee-Jo. Ron is also survived by his dear companion, Phyllis LaClair.
Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, NY. Services will be announced at the convenience of the family.
And as Ron would always say, "This isn't goodbye, it's simply, 'See Ya.'"
