Ronald P. Kam, of Wilson, NY, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and under the compassionate care of Niagara Hospice. He was 75.
Born on September 9, 1950, in Niagara Falls, NY, Ron was the son of the late Wilbur and Jeanne (Warren) Kam. A graduate of Wilson High School, Class of 1969, Ron was a man who believed in hard work and staying busy. His working years included working outdoors with Krantz Nursery and Willowbrook Golf Course and supervisory roles with Pfeiffer Foods, Central Tractor, and Shoreline Fruits. In retirement, he enjoyed his time as a courier with Eastern Niagara Hospital.
Ron married Teresa L. Toenniessen on October 21, 1989, in Wilson, NY, beginning a 36 year journey defined by unwavering devotion, deep companionship, and enduring love. He loved tending to his greenhouse and gardens, nurturing each plant from seed to harvest, and took pride in keeping his vegetable stand full. Canning alongside Teresa was a cherished tradition, and his dill pickles were well-known and well-loved.
A dedicated Buffalo Bills fan, Ron rarely missed a game as a season ticket holder during the late 80’s and 90’s. He found joy and fellowship with dear friends at Exley Community Church. He loved being outdoors, whether working in the yard, floating in the pool, or relaxing on the deck with an occasional Seagram’s in hand. He delighted in his small business, Bluebird Creek, crafting birdhouses and feeders for bluebirds and orioles. Above all, Ron loved his family. He adored his grandchildren and embraced every moment spent with them.
In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by his loving son, Ryan C. Kam, and his brother, Kenneth Kam.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Teresa L. Kam; his loving children, Heather J. (Kevin) Zastrocky, Jordan R. (Sabrina) Kam, Joseph P. (Kaitlin Olson) Kam, and Emily M. (Walter S.) Haines and his cherished grandchildren, Eloise, June, Walter, and Wyatt. He is also survived by his sister, Diana Rooney; mother‑in‑law, Susanne Elko; sister‑in‑law, Patti O’Keefe; as well as nieces, nephews and many friends. He will also be missed dearly by his fur babies, Ruby and Rosey.
