Ronald E. Mort

Ronald E. Mort, 85, of Youngstown, N.Y., passed March 5, 2024. Born in Niagara Falls, N.Y., Ron was the beloved husband of Paula (Gregorski), whom he married in 1974. He is also survived by a son, Brendan (Joe Easterly); a sister, Margaret Mort Polino; sister-in-law Cyndi (James) McDonald; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his son, Kenneth; siblings, Irene Jacob, and Edward Mort. Ron was an outstanding athlete in his youth. After high school, his creative side emerged and he was the proverbial self-taught man in all he pursued – sign maker, laborer, and newspaper publisher/ editor of the Niagara Observer. In 1981, he and Paula worked together at their business, Printing Productions for over 40 years. Most of all, he enjoyed time at home – his sanctuary on the lower Niagara River. There will be no prior visitation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094.
