Sandra A. Bedell

Sandra A. Bedell of Ransomville, NY passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada on April 22, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Howard T. and Mary Ruth (née Connolly) Shipston.

A proud 1957 graduate of Lewiston-Porter High School, Sandra went on to earn her Master’s degree in education—a calling that led to more than five decades of inspiring and shaping young minds. Her dedication to teaching was matched only by her zest for life. Whether ballroom dancing, playing cards, reading, fishing, boating, water skiing, snorkeling, or golfing, Sandra was always on the move, very active and never sat still……LOL. Embracing every moment with energy and joy.

Sandra was predeceased by her brother, Howard E. “Ted” Shipton. She is survived by her loving life partner, Douglas L. Tuttle; her devoted children, Bonnie (Jack) Pijanowski, Molly (Brendan) Bartley, Brett (Sussetti) Bedell, and David (Johan) Clayton; her cherished grandchildren, Brandon (Allison), Sarah, Stephanie, and Bryan; and her adored great-granddaughter, Riley. She was a dear aunt to Kristel, Charity, and Kelly, and leaves behind many treasured friends whose lives she brightened with her warmth and spirit.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 3–7 PM at HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville. A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 11 AM. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sandra’s honor to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
