Sheryl L. “Sheri” Simmons of Youngstown, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and under the compassionate care of Niagara Hospice. She was 74.
Born on December 18, 1951, in Niagara Falls, NY, Sheri was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Violet (née Raff) Martin. A proud 1970 graduate of Lewiston-Porter High School, she married the love of her life, Clifford L. Simmons, on February 27, 1971, in Youngstown, where they built a beautiful life together for more than five decades.
Known affectionately as Sheri to all who knew her, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved gardening, cross stitching, and never passed up the thrill of a good garage sale—always on the lookout for a bargain. Her deep love for animals, especially dogs, was a defining part of her gentle spirit. Above all, Sheri cherished time spent with her family and loved ones, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
In addition to her parents, Sheri was predeceased by her dear siblings, Joyce (late Thomas) Lisman and Ronald Martin, as well as her caring brother‑in‑law, Bill Greene.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Cliff; her loving daughters, Kelly (Chris) Bulmer and Tracy (Steven) Spernyak; and her cherished grandchildren, McKenna (Owen) Waterstram, Kaelyn Bulmer, and Gabriel Spernyak. She is also survived by her dear siblings, Carol Greene and Edward (Deb) Martin; her sister‑in‑law, Susan Martin; and several nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her kindness and warmth.
Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
If desired, memorials may be made in Sheri’s honor to the Niagara County SPCA.
