Stanley W. Alexander of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Schoellkopf Health Center. Stanley was 94 years old. Born on May 7, 1932, in Niagara Falls NY, he was the son of William and Mary (Hamera) Alexander. He is predeceased by his parents, beloved wife Eva, and sister Mary Ann.
Stanley is survived by two sons, William (Judy) and David (Barbara). His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Brian (Kathryn) Alexander, Gregory (Sydney) Alexander and Kimberly (Michael) Carlo. He was delighted to be a great grandfather to: Leslie, Chole and Ezra Alexander, Oliver Carlo and Ivy Rose Alexander. Stanley is also survived by a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Trott High School and was employed by AT&T, now Verizon Communications, as a telephone installer and line repairman for over 32 years.
Stanley had many passions in life, most of them centered on the outdoors. He enjoyed boating, fishing, waterskiing, aviation, skeet shooting, and hunting.
One of his proudest moments in life was earning of his private pilot’s license, and he took great satisfaction knowing his older son, Bill, pursued a career in aviation. His other passion was hunting and going to his son, David’s, cabin in Ripley, NY. He enjoyed his time in the woods hunting white tail deer, and in the camp telling stories of how the day’s hunt went. His smile was never wider than when he shared in David’s successful hunt.
He was a 45-year member of the Fin, Feather, and Fur (3F) Club, where he was honored to mentor younger members on how to respect nature and wildlife. He was a natural teacher and directly contributed to many new club members going on to be successful shooters at local and state level.
When he wasn’t outdoors, he could usually be found in the TV room cheering on the Buffalo Sabres, Bills or NY Yankees. He was mostly cheering, while other times, he could be heard pointing out what needed to be done better. Those of us who were lucky enough to know and love him wouldn’t expect anything different.
