Susan L. McBee, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo. She was 72.
Born on July 4, 1953, in Lewiston, she was the daughter of the late Franklyn and Joanne (nee Reid) Collins. Susan was a proud graduate of Lewiston-Porter High School, Class of 1971. She continued her education at Allegheny College and later earned her Master’s Degree in Education from D’Youville University.
A dedicated and compassionate educator, Susan taught at Lewiston-Porter High School for 20 years, where she touched countless lives with her patience, encouragement, and genuine care for her students. Her commitment to education and her community remained a defining part of her life.
Outside the classroom, Susan found joy in the simple and meaningful things, tending to her garden, cheering on her beloved Buffalo Bills, and spending time with her faithful dog, Finley. She was an avid animal lover and a warm, steady presence to all who knew her. Susan also volunteered her time at the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston, where her kindness and willingness to help were deeply appreciated.
Susan is survived by her loving children, Christopher McBee of Nashua, NH, and Sarah McBee of Lewiston, NY; and her cherished grandchildren, Emma, Mason, and Maverick, who brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her dear siblings, Robert (Debbie) Collins, Amy Collins, and David Collins, along with several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 401 Ridge Street, Lewiston. Services will be announced at a later date and will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston, 505 Cayuga Street, Lewiston, NY 14092.
If desired, memorials may be made in Susan’s honor to the SPCA Serving Niagara County, reflecting her lifelong love of animals.
